They are all people who I want to high school with. I can't say I ever knew any of them better than as mere acquaintances. People that I both went to high school with and hung out with while in high school don't bother with facebook. Should I unfriend these people or what?

Yes. Delete them. Delete all of your posts. Delete your account. It's not really deleted, but it's a step in the right direction.

just remove them from your news feed
Click on their post, on the right side is a little pop-up, just remove them from the news feed there, by clicking "change what updates you recieve from that person" |

Well either you get over it, or unfriend them, if you dont like what people are posting then delete them, i personaly say to my friends that if they have a problem then they can just remove me cause then i dont need them.

You can either unsubscribe from these people's posts by going to their profile. Or, if you feel that they've posted something which is absolutely vulgar and obscene, you can report that particular post or number of posts to Facebook. Facebook will never tell anyone who reported the content but will definitely take the right actions needed. And yes of course, you can unfriend them as well..
