Can ppl see if you joined a group on facebook?

i know that if its a closed or open group they can see that you are a part of the group if they search for it. But my question is whether someone can see that you joined a group on their activity feed, in the same way that it shows when someone likes something.

If they do, can someone also tell me how to disable people from seeing the groups as i join them?

No it won't show it's only gonna show it on the group page but only the people in the group will be able to see it c:

If you joined in a open group then they can see it their newsfeed. If you joined in any other group then they cant see it in their newsfeed
