Facebook birthday notifications ONLY show up for my old crush and her family?
(10 points for the best answer!)

Weird question, right? Let me summarize the situation. I liked a girl for a while. We're friends, and I got put in the friend-zone. No biggie. Her birthday was last week, and her sister's birthday is today. Not a day goes by where at least one of my ~900 "Facebook friends" has a birthday. On the right side of the Facbeook page, you see "birthdays" and it lists the people who have birthdays. The ONLY people who I have ever received a red birthday notification for (in the Notification Center) are my old crush and her sister. What is going on here? I can't find the old subscribe button (even though I don't recall using that feature at all), and I don't know why I'm being reminded of their birthdays. Only their birthdays, no one else's! This is bugging me. Help?

I don't get any birthday notifications so it sounds like you've got them in your Close Friends list (I never bothered using this which is why I don't get them). Remove them from this list by hovering over the 'Friends' sub-title on the left hand column (you may need to scroll down), then a like called 'MORE' should show up - click on it. You should come to a new menu - click 'Close Friends'. Now, on the right hand side, there should be a box called 'On this list'. If they are in this box, click See All at the top of the box, then hover over there pictures. A cross should appear - click on this. They are now removed from this list and it should prevent the notifications.
