I don't like Facebook but I don't want people to leave and i will never see them again :-(

Well, you could make an account and then only use it for becoming "friends" with your real friends.
You don't have to use Facebook 24/7 as too many people do - I don't like Facebook either, because of that  Thanks, Andreas. |

If you don't like facebook, you don't have to use it. But if you still want to socialize with your friends, there are other services like Twitter and LinkedIn

If you don't like Facebook then don't create It mabey exchange email address or join Twitter I have It and It's quite safe and secure.

Facebook is not a contacts list to add people. Use it only if you want to maintain a social life with your old friends, neighbors and colleagues. If you create an account and leave it idle, then someone may hack it and make your friends really hate you. You can keep their contacts like e-mail or phone, if you just want a backup of your friends list.
