how can i hide my activities from appearing on facebook's ticker?

If the facebook's ticker that you meant is facebook timeline. In your post/activity you can see a Pencil icon that usually in the right top, click it and there's an option that written "Hide from timeline", but your facebook friends still can see that, if you want to hide it from them too you can see a Gear icon, click it and there's an option that you can choose who can see the post/activity.
