Why has it come to this? I feel that people(myself included) depend on reading in between the lines of a text message. You know, wondering about why the person hasn't texted you back in 15minutes, constantly checking your phone every five seconds to see if they answered you even though your phone is not on silent, did they add a "haha"or "lol"?, did they put a smiley face or a winky face...any face at all?

Texting should only be used if you need something...not to have a full on conversation with someone (someone being a person you're dating). I feel like it backfires more than it helps anyone, anyways.
There can be like a whole book and a half written about texting etiquette and I think that is absurd.

Why do we read into text messages so much? Why are they so crucial?
Maybe for you they are not and that's cool.

Thoughts? Opinions? Anything?

I absolutely agree, there is no romance left in the world. It's all I texted you and you never texted me back but my friend said that you texted her friend who then texted you etc etc etc etc! It's the same with social media which frankly turns everything into a witch hunt!
I'm not sure to the reason, only that I know the world has changed alot in the past 15 years and maybe this trend is here to stay, if so it is a crying shame.
