Something happened with Facebook and I need help please?

Today I was talking to someone on Facebook, and suddenly I was logged out and told I had to do a security test to determine if I was a real person. I was doing it because there was no other way to log into my account, and then it got to this part I can't get around, it wants a phone number so it can send a secret code that will get me logged back in, unfortunately I don't have a phone, so I can't actually enter it and I have no way of getting back in. Also, I was in the middle of a conversation and I'm not sure if I'll be able to sleep tonight because that is the one person I talk to in order to convince myself that I actually need to sleep.
Anyway, I really need help with this and I would like to know if I could somehow get it connected to my e-mail or something else instead. Can anyone please help me?
Please note that buy yourself a phone is not an appropriate answer because I can't do that, it is not an option for me.
