The police has a contract with facebook so facebook will give away your ip adress, but normal people cant

I think the police can only track the ip address via facebook profile. I think normal people can't do that. Only a hacker can do that stuff not a normal person.

The persons IP address is stored on the Facebook server, you don't connect directly to the person, you connect to the server and that is sent to the person. Only when you are directly connected to them they can get your IP address. I don't think it's possible and likely that you won't be as it takes a lot of skill.

No, Facebook protects their users well and will not simply reveal your personal info. You can only get the information if you have court order.

Btw, with the IP address, anyone can trace the location easily, to get the city, zip code, lat/long and so on by using online tools like http://www.ipinfodb.com
