I feel lonely because I don't follow trends?
I'm 19. I find it difficult to find any real friends who share my way of thinking and beliefs. I don't have facebook, twitter or a blackberry. I don't listen to the crap mainstream artists like Nicki Minaj or David Guetta.

I don't wear skinny jeans or style my hair into a faux hawk or watch Jersey Shore. I think you pretty much get the picture that I'm not into a lot of things people my age are into. But it feels so god damn lonely. Everybody has facebook and blackberry these days, even the people I use to look up to.

It's difficult to feel like such an outsider but it's kind of a catch-22 because I'm screwed either way. If I conform then I do the very things I detest. And if I don't I'm always going to feel kind of lonely and like an outsider. Screw it I'd rather be lonely than conform.

I ain't bein funny, but why did you post this question? Your not supposed to post a question and then put an answer at the end of it? Don't ask if you already know what you wanna do?

You just answered your own question lol. You don't have to follow trends to feel like your a part of a group. Find something that you like and join it online to find people like you... that's what I would do if I felt lonely. For instance I am a girl who love's to game... how often do I find girls that I can talk to about gaming COD... all that fun stuff ... it's not common so I found a site and made some friends. Eventually I even found some girls in my area that love to game as much as I do.

You are unique and have no want of trendy gadgets or gizmos. Good for you! I suggest you stick to things you find happiness and comfort in. If you were to succumb to things you have no interest in, then you'll never be happy and that sux worse than everything else. Good luck
