Facebook notifications?

The past couple weeks I have been getting notifications on facebook on my phone that one of my friends updated their status. It only happens for some of my friends and the notification comes in several hours after they update their status. These friends are NOT marked as "close friends" and they are NOT marked to send notification to me unless it directly involves me. I also did NOT comment on their status that it tells me they updated and I am not following that status. Does anyone know how to fix this? I only want to see these statuses in the news feed rather than get notifications about it.

I think it's a bug on their app, because that's been happening to me too. I would try emailing them about it.

Go to the indications button in Facebook.
Click on it
In the upper right hand corner of the notification of your friend, you will see an X. Click on it.
If you never want to see that notification, click on 'Turn off'.

They either tagged you in it. or there's something wrong with their app, let them know about it.

NOT THE APP they're fools. Just open up messenger and go to the person/ppl who you are getting them from and then pull up there drop down menu it should say face time and notifications press that one and press off
