If someone blocked me on facebook...?

I used to chat to a friend on facebook, but today i was sending him a message but it didnt go through and all of a sudden he's name disapeared and changed to "facebook user". Also, i can only see the messages i've sent, all of his are blank...

By this can you tell if i've been blocked or did he maybe cancel his account??

if all of his message disappeared, that means facebook is the one who suspended it or deleted it for abusing behavior (not neccessarily abusive to you)

if he just deactivated it or deleted it himself, you would still be able to read his messages

He has either deactivated his account or deleted it.
