when will the new gtlds be available for the public?

The title says it all.

I know you can pre-order the new domain names, but i wonder when the most famous rigistrars will have them available. (Example of the new gtlds: .webs .home .shop)

The first new tlds to be released will be international, non ascii characters in Russian, Chinese, etc and should come online sometime in q3-q4 2013. The western or latin character tlds will directly follow with most coming online in 2014. Some of the first new extension that will be seen will be .menu, .camera, .fishing as well as city tlds like .nyc and .london.

Interestingly, the most popular new tlds, like .art, .music, .shop, .web may come later as there is more than one applicant has applied for the rights. Those 'contention sets' must be resolved before the new tld registry can launch.
