Probably because when you send out tons of friend requests facebook thinks your scammng....if you are adding people you don't know, or that don't know you, they CAN report it and Facebook will flag it...

Nobody needed to have reported you. One of two things has happened.

Facebook has software monitoring the number of friend requests you send - this is to stop scammers and spammers from flooding everyone with constant friend requests. This software will flag up anyone who sends a lot of friend requests in a short period of time.

Also there is an option when accepting or declining a friend request asking if you know the person outside Facebook. If several people decline your request and choose this option, this too will be flagged up for attention.
