how do you stop someone from showing up in your newsfeed?

i dont wanna delete them as a friend and i still wanna be able to see all their posts and stuff if i look at their page but i dont want their stuff to randomly pop up in my newsfeed...please dont ask why its a long story, but is it possible to do that?

You could go to their wall & were it says friend click on it and some options will come out click on unsubscribe or click on the " following " button and their posts will not come out on your newsfeed .

Simply go to a post and click on hide, and it will give you an option to always hide. They will still be your friend though.
