Facebook sharing question?

I keep getting notifications of one of my distant friends on Facebook sharing things. Are they personally sharing their updates with me? I am not subscribed to them so I am confused as to why I get updates like "Teri shared "some link". Also the weird thing is the notification will be quite done time after their update. What's going on? Is it my privacy settings?

No, no you've done one of two things:

Accidentally added them to a 'star' list which is close friends so you've signed up to their updates which will spam you with notifications of their every post and move.

Pressed to follow them either because you aren't on their friends list or did it by accident and this shares what they're doing with you.

When it comes up, click on their profile and you should be able to remove it.
