My mom wants me to give her my Facebook password, what should I do?
I'm 13 years old and my mom wants me to give her my Facebook password. I just got a Facebook a couple days ago and she wants the password! I have nothing to hide on there but I need my privacy. After a while she finally gave me a Facebook but now she wants the password, she can never give me a break!! She wants the password because she doesn't want creepy men trying to talk to me but I'm old enough to know not to talk to them. Why would I want to talk to them anyway?! What should I do so she will change her mind about wanting my password.

Give her the password and prove that you can be trusted.

Sit her down, explain to her that you understand her concerns, but you feel like it would be invasive to your privacy to let her have your password, and that you hope she can trust your judgment enough to allow you this freedom of expression without parental guidance.
If that doesn't work, make a new facebook account with a SLIGHTLY different name, and give her THAT password. |

Rose D is completely right. I would advise against making another account or changing your password an hour after giving your mom your password due to that fact that it is disrespectful and you may lose the privilege of using facebook. Tell her that you will give her your password but that you would like your privacy back eventually.

I'd say give your mother your password. It proves you have nothing to hide. I'm pretty sure that since you're only 13 and obviously post about teenage stuff she'll quickly get sick of keeping tabs on you anyway.
