How do you tag people on facebook?

i type the ppls name in and it dont come up as tagged. and how do you tag people on statuses and other peoples statuses?

Type @ before the name
Example:
@bobsmith

Before updating the status you have to tag the people

[Fáízee]

Just input the symbol @ before typing the name of the person/page whom you want to tag.
This will give them a notification saying " *your name* have mentioned you in a comment"
