Do i have to advertise my page on facebook?

im trying to create a fan page for a tv show on facebook, but I don't want to advertise if I have to pay. Can I not advertise my page? I click the facebook button and it brings me right back to the advertise page.

Yes you can do it. And many people who are doing the same thing a.e advertising their fanpage. So if you are not doing that already, you can start it now. What is more it won't cost your extra money also for some occasion.
