I made a change to facebook and need help. I would like to see my friends posts?

and also see when someone is having a birthday. I only want to see what my friends post and not when one of their friends make a post. In the past whenever someone made a post on my friends facebook I would get a notification in my email box. So it would say John Does posted on Jane Does FB. I tried to change it and now I don't get notifications when my friends make a post. I hope this makes sense. Thanks for your help.

You can only receive e-mail notifications of "Close Friends" list. So, you will have to add your friends in Close Friends if you want to get their notifications via e-mail.
