How to delete friends from Facebook?

So I was looking through my friends list and I saw some people who have deleted their Facebook accounts or something. I wanted to delete them from my friends list but when I clicked on their name it said:
This content is no longer available
The content you requested cannot be displayed right now. It may be temporarily unavailable, the link you clicked on may have expired, or you may not have permission to view this page.

And there was no option to delete that person off of the friends list.
Does anyone know how to do that?

Go to your news feed, search for the people that you want to remove, click on their name, you will see a button on their time line that says friends and has a golden star to the left of it, click on it, right at the bottom of the list their will be a button that says unfriend, click it. Done!

Have you tried hovering the mouse over their names, then using the menu from in there?
If that doesn't work, try searching here: https://www.facebook.com/help/?ref=contextual.

If none of the above works, you should report it to facebook, since it's a really annoying bug.
You do that by clicking on the options button next to your name in the top of your facebook. Then click on "Help". Now a box should open with a search bar and some links. click on "Report a Problem" in the bottom. Click "Report a Problem again in at the next page that comes up. You should be able to do the rest on your own now.

I know that if the person deleted their account, their profile will show up as "Facebook User" and then after a bit, they will disappear from your friends list entirely. If they re-activate account, then try will pop back up on your friends list. If they didnt delete their account, then i don't know what the error is and how to fix it.
