What can 'restricted' friends see after messaging you on Facebook?

On Facebook, one of my friends (who I put in the restricted category) messaged me and I messaged them back. Does this person now have access to view my profile photos?

I ask this because I know that if someone who is not in your friends list sends you a message and you respond to this message, they are able to view your profile for a limited period of time (a few days or a week), regardless of whether your settings allow non-friends to see your profile or not.
