How do I convince my boss that Facebook is important to his business ?
My CEO doesn't understand what facebook can do to enhance his companies profile. I started up a Facebook fan-site some months ago for his business and it's starting to get some attention. What can I do next to get more people to 'like' the company and persuade him that this kind of promotion is worth while ?
He also has a twitter account, (which I am not admin, unfortunately) but that is sitting idle to doing nothing. He has no understanding of social media and I have little experience but i am really eager to learn.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks, Matt.

So you don't know what you are doing and neither does he, but you are keen to show the way...the phrase 'the blind leading the blind' springs to mind!

Get your own knowledge up to speed before trying to persuade him. A fan site is of no value to the business in cash terms; only orders and purchases are, so you need to show a very clear link, if there is one.

Show him the pages of all successful companies on facebook and twitter. Networking is the best way to get business.

Jw is right, who's going to maintain the site if you don't, it will be something he will have to pay for with out knowing what to do, if he has time to learn then you may have a shot, no sense in doing something if you cannot stay committed, Sry, your boss has his reasons, and I know you mean well, just do the fan sight and go from there, you will show your commitment and he will be proud to have you on his side.
