How do you know if someone adds you on Snapchat?

Hi, I just started using Snapchat and was wondering if it alerts you when someone adds you? I just clicked on the app and in the bottom left corner it's lit up orange with the number "2". I clicked on it and it has two names that I am familiar with but I was wondering if those are just suggestions or if they are people adding me. Sorry if this doesnt make any sense!

If they add you then will have a blue button beside the name that says add and if you want to add them click it if not delete it

And how do u delete them off that list if they try to add you? The app has updated and won't let me slide and delete anymore
