Girl trouble, should I talk to her on Facebook after 2 months?

I have a situation with a girl I had a huge crush on. we're both jrs in high school. I'm good looking but I used to be extremely shy and still suffer from that. I only talked to her a few times, she was always happy to talk. I pretty much told her I liked her once when I asked her if I she had a boyfriend and that i would really like get to know her. I could never talk to her when she was with her friends though because of my shyness, I messed it up by not talking to her for 2 months.

When school year ended I gave up but have seen her on FB. I really want to talk to her at least to become friends. Im kind of nervous and am wondering if this is a bad idea. Can someone give me advice and a little push.

If you use Facebook to drop her a casual friendly greeting that might be a way to break the ice so to speak and see how she responds to your greeting. If she replies favorably then you have a chance to open the lines of communication again and build the friendship you want.
