Photos on iphoto disappeared?

I uploaded, from my camera, onto iPhoto a bunch of pictures. The next day I selected all of the images to post on facebook. As I selected the "put into album" option, iphoto froze. I forced quit. When I opened the application again all of my photos had disappeared from last imported. I searched everywhere. It wasn't in the trash, documents or anywhere on iPhoto. I restarted my computer and still no photos. Any help?
