What is a good number of facebook status updates per day?

I have recently started a "business" Facebook page of circuit-bent electronics, so far it has generated 40 likes but I rarely ever update the status and I noticed when I do post statuses, more page like come in. My question is, what is a good number of face status updates per day for the page to get noticed but not be a annoyance? I think 3 is a good number.
1. Recruit some likers.
2. Make a status about what your doing/promotional
3. Just one about something else.

Three or four!!! You'll stay on people's timelines, but you won't be "all over" their timeline.
