you can attach any file. go to http://www.facebook.com/messages find the person you want to send the file to. under the text there is a button 'add file' click it...

If yes here are the steps ,

1. Sign in to your Facebook profile and click the "Messages" icon on the left side of the banner, to the left of the globe icon.
2. Click "Send a New Message" link in the "Messages" drop-down menu.
3. Enter the name of the message recipient in the "To" field. Click on the paper clip icon beneath the "Message" field.
4. Use the pop-up window that appears to navigate to the folder on your hard drive that holds the file you want to attach. Click once on the name of the file and choose "Open" from the bottom of the window.
5. Wait for Facebook to attach the document. When the file is attached, it appears under the "Message" field with a "X" to the right of it. Use the "Message" field to explain your attachment and click the "Send" button to transmit the message.
