How should I get more followers on instagram?

I just got an insta and I only have 35 followers, I almost had 40 but I lost some. I have my instagram on my mom's phone so I only use it at night or when she's off of work. All my other friends have 70 to 500 to 1000 I have 35! And I am not getting anymore! HELP!

Look at your friends followers and follow the people you know, after that just look for accounts that say "I will follow back" and get the app followers + ( App Store ) to see who's not following you back.
