Why am I in his notifications on facebook?

So I was looking thru my dads nofitications and it said Mary (last name) changed her profile picture. I didn't tag anybody in that picture! Why did it send a notice to him? I always wondered why like two minutes after I up load a picture it says (dads name) liked and commented on your picture.

There's an option on Facebook where a person can put u as close friends or aquitannces I have my best friends and girlfriend as close friends and I get notifications when they change their pictures or when they share something or a status
