BLACK MAIL VIA FACEBOOK!?
I am being blackmailed by a facebook user, this person clearly knows me well as they seem to know my current address. The person is obviously someone close to me so I was just wondering is there any way to find out this person true identity?

Go along with anything that they are saying, whilst they are getting caught up trying to blackmail you slip in a random question to eliminate certain people from the equation, most probably a blackmailer will be a former/jealous friend or an ex

you can report him/ her to the police and ask them to investigate but first you might need to ask advice from the facebook team, they will help you deal with that person.

follow the link to find ways to contact them: https://www.facebook.com/help/220217228006012/

For one, police aren't going to do shit unless its life threatening. Two, have your really one anything than anyone really cares about? If not ignore them, let them talk their shit. The way I see it, if that is their plan then there are going to be two sides to the story, let them tell theirs and if its not true ignore it, if it is owell, they are feeding on your guilt and you are letting them. Its apart of life move on and quit playing childish games. Block them in face and remove any friends that might be mutual to them. If those people really are your friends they know how you can be reached by phone or family. If Facebook is a problem, give up your account, or adjust your privacy settings to block anyone not on your Facebook and make sure no one is following your Facebook page. Simple as that. Anyone who does try to contact your private page will be forced to pay a dollar for each message, other wise it gets sent to the back of your folders that aren't read.

If black mail is taken beyond the virtual realm of Facebook and becomes personal by physical mail or threatening letters, this then becomes a matter and should be addressed to the proper authorities, the authorities will closely monitor you and the information that you receive from this person. The authorities have their way of tracing information back to that user and will also monitor any network traffic between you and that person and will take matters into their own hands.

Make a fake account yourself and find out who you think the person is by saying "omg i hate that bitch (your name) then see if anyone you know likes it"
