How to get followers on Pinterest?

I have just started using Pinterest I so far have 4 boards. I have no followers however and cannot seem to ever find my board in a search. I do not have Facebook or Twitter to promote my boards. Any advice?

Follow other peoples boards to get inspiration for yours. Someone will start following yours, once you get enough pins, in different topics.

Think you have to be a member for awhile to start showing up in search. All depends on your activity. If you wanna get followers just start following more people and eventually you'll get some.

By clicking the drop down box below your name, you’ll see ‘Find Friends’ and if you have built-in your twitter and facebook names on pinterest, it will show those of your facebook friends as well as those you follow on twitter who are on Pinterest. The probability are that if you follow them, they will follow you back. You might want to check their accounts are active though – as many seem to set up a Pinterest account, repin a few descriptions and then forget about it.

Search for areas of interest e.g crochet and follow those boards or pinners you truly find to be of interest. Connect with them by commenting or repinning and they may follow you back.
