What jobs can I get with social networking skills?

What jobs can I get with social networking skills?
I'm an intern with a nonprofit and my current job description includes quite a lot of things, but recently my job has centered around marketing on social networking sites. I currently manage their Twitter accounts and their profile/correspondence on a website for people to review nonprofits, and will be also managing their Facebook page very soon. I'm also in the process of learning about search engine optimization, which isn't quite the same thing, but seems somewhat related, at least.

I've discovered that I enjoy doing those things, and I know that the skills are in demand to some extent, since so many companies have pages on those and other social networking sites these days. I also know this is a relatively new area for business, so jobs in it might not be very well defined. But is there an established job title that describes someone who manages content and correspondence on those kind of sites, or jobs that use that skill set frequently? How much does someone get paid for that kind of work? Any insight is useful, and particularly if you are or know someone who does that for a living, I'd like to know how it works in the context of a more defined job position. Thanks!

With experience in social networking, then you would be seeking careers in marketing and sales. Many companies are using Twitter and Faceook for advertising, such as the organization that you are working for. You could be working with Public Relations, marketing/advertising team, or sales/e-commerce team. There are definitely careers and job positions requiring your skills.

SEO can get you strongly positioned on a web team. It is definitely its own career path, but it is a useful knowledge area along with usability, design, and web analytics. Some buzz words that you may want to look into "Web Trends", "Meta Tags", "User Experience", "Jared Spool", and "SEO".
