Is it possible to login to facebook using an inactive yahoo account?
Someone has created a fake profile of my friend on facebook and we have found the id used to login is a yahoo id. We cracked the id and on searching for that id on facebook, we get the same fake profile. But when we try carrying out the forgot password procedure on yahoo for the same id, yahoo says the id and code combination is wrong. (The code is the text which we have to read and copy)
No, I don't know the password. I have just figured out the email id. On searching for it on facebook, the same fake profile opens. So the email id used by the fraud is correct.
But when we try doing the forgot password thing, yahoo says the username and code combination is wrong. Has the id been deleted due to inactivity?

Maybe you just don't know the password..even if you did get in the account (which would mean that you know the email as well as the password somehow), they could easily just reactivate the account right.. but to answer your question, you only need the email to verify the account when you create it

The ID which you are using to sign in is not yours nor your friend's (it is of the fraud) then how come you can know it's password? It is useless to use 'password forgot' feature. And the code combination of which you are talking have to do with you only. We can't do anything. You have to put it correct yourself. I know that even after typing it right, Yahoo says the code is wrong. In this case, you better delete all your cookies first and then try.
And an ID can only be deleted if it is older than some 8 or 9 months. If Yahoo detected no activity for this period of time, the account gets deactivated. This is just my general guess. Automatic account deletion time may vary.

Steps you can take:
1. Report it on Facebook > https://www.facebook.com/help/2072098259...y-friends?
Another related link > https://www.facebook.com/help/1742105193...ic-figure?

2. Tell all your friends about the fake profile if you are that concerned.
