why would someone friend request you on facebook and ask you to skype then upload a video of someone else?

i was on face book and received a friend request. I added them then we chatted. She asked me to skype and then uploaded a video of someone else as her video during the call. I guess im wondering if this is a way for people to get private information from you.

Thank you. It is not very safe to add or accept anyone you don't know on Facebook, let alone video chat with them.

This may be to acquire private information, but there could be many other reasons, possibly fraud/false identity, but don't think I need to go any deeper into that.
