You can opt out of it. Just don't apply for it.

Now Now why would you want to take money away from the progressives that know how to spend it way better then us.

They just want the money to spend and throw away, after all it is not like it is theirs.

What is amazing is how 535 people in Washington f*ck up and we the people are the ones on the hook for it.

Love it.
It used to be totally voluntary, I guess until people figured out they could do much better on their own.

There are private annuities with guarantees on income that give much better returns than the Ponzi scheme government has created. Unfunded liabilities of 15 Trillion dollars! Individual/personal/private accounts are the best alternative.

All entitlements liabilities are only 109 TRILLION dollars! I thought Madoff was bad.

To the thumbs downers.

Are you anti choice? Why use force to make all non-consenting individuals conform to these programs? where is pro choice? I want a refund.

We have to continue the Social Security program because it needs current contributions to pay for those who are already receiving benefits. Also, since your employer matches your contributions, they are probably set up to deduct from everyone and cannot pay for some employees and not others. Congress would have to rescind the Social Security Act to make changes, so you should contact your Congressman about the opt out scheme.
