creating a business facebook page. manage under my existing personal page or create a new stand-alone page?

i want to create a facebook page for a software product i'm developing. does it matter if i create the page as a managed page under my personal account as opposed to creating a new, stand-alone page?

will random visitors to the page be able to tell one way or the other?

You won't be able to create a business page as a stand alone. You have to have a personal page (known as a Timeline) to create and admin a business page (known as a Page.)
