can i update my facebook account on the computer?

all my friends on their statuses they can show how they're feeling by a little smile next to the camera when you click the status but i don't have that smile so i cant show how i feel, how do i change that or update my facebook on my computer?
when i make a status update it doesnt have that smile box, it ends with the camera

go to write a status update on the homepage, click on the status making box and look at the 4 little box options at the bottom of the status bar with little icons on them. click the smiley face on the right then select your mood
