how do I set my Facebook settings so I get notified when someone posts on my wall ?

if someone posts on my wall I don't know unless I do to my profile and scroll my own wall ,how do I make so I get an email when a friend posts something or comments ...please explain in the simplest way

1- In the right up corner there is a star icon, click on it
2- click on account setting
3- then in the left side panel click on Notifications
4- in the Notifications settings take time and read all the settings and configure them to fit your needs
