My God!
We Americans are sheep looking for a shepherd just as our Holy Bible tells us to be. So we don't think for ourselves. There would be no marketing if we thought for ourselves.
Another factor is the TV commercials that we unconsciously assimilate.
So we are hit on two levels
Fear is probably the greatest factor in marketing. We won't be good enough. We won't be protected. We won't get a mate. We will get sick. Our kids will be deprived.
Look at how the war in Iraq is marketed.
We are a gullible society just as marketing makes us.
We are shown symbols and ideal images, in commercials, rather than verifiable data.
