facebook chat???????

Ok, so im on my facebook (available in chat) but i also see my boyfriend, who is NOT on his facebook, GREEN LIGHT is on, but as i click his name in the chat bar, the green light goes away but then also pops his mobile icon which reads active 1 hr ago.. and he hasnt been on it an hour ago either..and this has happened mulitple times too when i click his name.. anyone know wtf is going on?
Thank you guys, the thing is tho, he hasnt been on his ipad for anything.. at all this morning.. and this im sure of. Weird

If he has a smart phone usually they will connect to Facebook if he plays a game e.g. Candy crush saga etc. and it will say he was online because of that. It's not just games that connect to Facebook. It can be other apps aswell

the online indicator is never accurate if a person is using a mobile device

When he has synchronised his FB account in his mobile, Everytime when he use internet he will show available on chat.

Second Thing, may be someone else was using the phone at that time.
