Is it a good idea to have a facebook account?

So what if data gets leaked? If someone wanted your data they could find it in oher ways so there is no real reason to get rid of your account, no.

If the danger is in the information getting out, either don't put that much personal information on your account, or find some way to amp up the security (I don't have a facebook, so I don't really know what I'm getting at here). Aside from that, it would be pretty safe to delete it, but you would have to think about it in terms of Risk vs Reward. Is it more important to you to be connected with your friends and others, or is it more important that your information could possibly leave your control.

It is safe if you don't have personal information on your site like your address, phone #, etc.
Just have friends on there who you personally know, don't add people you meet on games.
Do not say I am going here or there so people can track you down.
You just have to be careful. It is what you make it.
I like to play games and get recipes on there but I do have lots of friends, who I either personally know or my friends know them'
