How does "following" another person on Facebook work?

Does that person who is being 'followed' approve of being followed by that person, or can anyone follow anybody without their knowledge?
No offense but that is stupid man, Isn't that like an invasion of privacy? Especially if you want to be followed by certain people but not by a certain person but in order to be followed, you have to allow it.

The person won't be notified that you are following them, until they go to their followers section & then they can see who all is following them. How it works? When you follow someone you will be notified of all their activities in your notifications. You can follow someone even if you aren't friends. If you do, you will be able to see everything that they do Public.

First the person would need to set up their account to allow following, and then anyone could follow that person without approval, but he could block you. The followers only see public posts and do not see everything posted to friends. The person is able to see who is following him, but since they are not friends, he can only see public posts and info.

If you follow someone on Facebook you will get the updates from that person on your timeline, you can choose what type of updates you want to get e.g. status updates, photos, games and other activities, you can choose it from follow option.

And the person you want to follow don't need to approve you, And person you are following can see you in the list of people following.
