can you delete messages that others have sent tou and they not see them either?

My dad had sent some messages to his ex-wife and they had a conversation. But my dad went and tried to look back at them and they are gone. Could she have deleted all of them?

Well I assume he was sending them via birds in the sky, and now the bird is flying to hes wife with the letter , so the wife receives the letter and deletes the bird, the bird does not exist anymore, it had never existed, the letter was never sent, there is no letter, so what are you even taking about?
