Is it weird to friend random people on Facebook?
I just made an account a couple days ago, and have 11 friends from people I hang out with that actually have Facebook. I'm still in High School, and was wondering if I should start friending people I recognize, even if we never really talked before. It seems like that's the only way people can have so many friends, as most tend to have 100+, but I don't know if it seems odd to do so. I'm new to Facebook, so please, veterans, give me your opinions!

you dont have to add them all at once. you can just get to know ppl as time passes and you just start adding them. i add ppl that i have classes with and are my friends. but adding them doesnt mean they will reply to ur friend request

You friend people who you want to be friends with. Facebook can let you decide for yourself if to stick with your own personal friend circle or explore other people, thats what its for. If you wanna expand your circle of friends, just click random people who calls for your atention, check out their profile and see if you want to add them. Be aware this might bring several risks, like false profiles, pedophiles and other people up to no good.

Getting to know new people isn't bad, just be smart and do a little research before anything else. Good luck!

you can friend request all you want, they still have to approve it. It's only weird if your not playing game and don't need that many people to help you. I dropped like 200 people when I stopped playing certain games on FB

Yes! That's a bit weird, so please don't do it unless you want to be regarded as a stalker Smile I used to believe that was how people ended up with like 1000+ friends, but it's really not. They just know so many people and add friends of friends who they've met once or twice. Basically, if you recognize someone but you've never talked to them (i.e. you've never been introduced), don't add them. You can message them or poke them if you find them attractive/want to be flirty, but that's it.

Remember that it's quality over quantity. If you have 1000 friends and only talk to half of them, what's the point of keeping the other half around? I used to have 500 friends (mostly from school), but after I graduated I got that down to 350 people who I actually care about and want to talk to. Sounds mean, but it felt good to unfriend people who never once bothered to wish me a happy birthday in the several years that I'd had them on FB - those aren't real friends!

Answer mine? I need a guy's opinion! http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind...332AA2zaYl
