Facebook how to hide updates?

I seriously think that Facebook should implement this non-spam method, as people tend to constantly change their covers or profile pictures and it bugs the heck out of us. I do it as well. Anyone know a way around it? I'm pretty sure that even if you click "hide from timeline" it still shows up on your friends' newsfeeds. What a pain!

if you dont want to see your friends updates, then why are you using facebook in the first place?

if something annoys you in your news feed, you can just change your subscription from them...

Go to your friends profile and click "don't show in newsfeed".
