Why do people lie when they edit their photos on Facebook?

Just now, I saw a girl I know post a photo where her eyes are OBVIOUSLY altered. When asked about it, she just said, "lol, I don't even know how to edit my eyes". It's really stupid.

She obviously wants to look good, girls are very conscious when it comes to their looks, you can tell even they take pictures, their heads tilt either to the right or left, depending on which is their better looking side of their face, crazy stuff. She is probably trying to impress some guy to answer your question, but her eyes are totally altered, no doubt!
