Facebook relationship update won't show on news feed?

We broke up about 2 weeks ago, and when I went to change my relationship status yesterday to single- it said it wouldn't show up in News Feed. I want it to show up in the News Feed though rather than individually telling my friends and family that we broke up. No one can notice we're not together unless they specifically click on my profile and go to "About". How can I change this so that my updated relationship status will show up in News Feed?

Hey, I had a problem with updating my profile on my iPad and Found out iPad and iPhone have some issues, so if you are using either device you will have to wait untill the next update I think.
If you're using your pc/or laptop try to refresh the page & close down the web and re-open
You Proberly have tried all of these solutions. I realised after a while 'my status wasn't uploading onto my wall ' I kept trying and trying but nothing. Then the next day I went onto my facebook the status was on my wall 16 times ! So wait, because if it still doesn't work facebook just might be running slow or something. Hope this helped (yes I realised my advice is terrible) but its worth a try if you haven't tried those things because it might make it work.
