I'm taking mass media as an elective in my degree course and I'm super lost with ^^ that question. Can anyone give me a rough outline or like a break down and explanation on what I'm suppose to do?

No. Maintstream media is controlled by all aspects, poltiicians, government, bureaucratic assholes, celebrities, the wealthy, and much more. You just need to prove how you can change it poke out the many various probems. You can pinpoint Facebook, Twitter, etc.
