Yahoo doesn't block mailbox's that I know of. Sounds to me like your computer is hacked. Go to the library and use a different computer to access Yahoo mail. If you can, then you know your computer is hacked.

Hacked computer? Probably will require reformatting of C: and reinstall of Windows. When you're in that library, back up your email to a removable drive (thumb drive), all of it. Get the Windows Serial Number off the computer, you will need that to reinstall Windows, assuming you do not have the install disk available. You can use another install disk (a friends) if it's the same Windows version, but you need your serial number to complete the install.

Only after all this is done, will you change passwords. Until then, you should assume that your computer is being remotely monitored by someone, and changing the password will go to them, so they will know the new one too.

Please take note that there is a server crash or staff snafu affecting loads of Yahoo Mail accounts.

What happens is that your account gets deactivated. To reactivate it you type in a capcha. Then when you regain access ALL folder and past emails have been deleted.

To get the folders and emails restored this may be possible by going to

http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?y=PROD_MA...sions=true

Apparently Yahoo can restore emails only up to 48hrs after the loss. Whether it will actually happen, I do not know.

If this happens to you first of all request a restore (anything in the last 48 hours will be lost anyway).

Then raise the issue on Twitter: @YahooInc @yahoomail @YahooCare @YahooMailYahoo @YahooMailGroup

Then also raise the issue on Yahoo Group [Y-Mail] - you have to join first

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Y-Mail/

Meanwhile make a CSV download of your contacts..

Good luck.

CJB.
