How do I keep a tagged facebook pics likes/comments if I make it my profile pic?

So I uploaded a new profile pic of just myself and I accidentally tagged it so there's 2 copies. I want all likes/comments on the tagged version of the photo though, so would I just change that one to my profile pic for the likes/comments to remain? Or will it become my profile pic and the likes/comments will be erased? Thanks

Comment on tag picture will be vanished if the original picture is deleted.

Any picture that is already uploaded to your album can be used as profile picture ➤ it's actually then copied to your Profile Picture album, but just the pic, not incl the comment/likes.

And remember, pic in Profile Picture album can't be removed to other album.
